Finding the right light

When it comes to photography, light is EVERYTHING. It shapes the mood, highlights delicate details, and creates a timeless elegance that is priceless. While there are many ways to light a subject; whether a bride, ring, floral display, or even a dancing grandma, natural light has a beauty and authenticity that’s hard to replicate.

As a luxury wedding photographer in Kansas City, I often seek out natural light not only for it’s flattering qualities, but also for the way that is narrates a story of it’s own. It can wrap around a bride and make her glow like the feeling in her heart and bring out the romance of the day. It will also make the intimate details shimmer like the are stars in the sky on a moonless night. Natural light is honest, organic and true, preserving the moments with a glory that only it can bring. From walking down the aisle to standing, or twirling in a the light of a widow. It inherently brings emotions and feelings that not only flatters, but is timeless.

The dreamiest of dreamy images that I have captured as a photographer, have always had that fire that only the sun light can bring.
