The Ferguson Family
And the littles.
An Extended Family Session With MPR
Along Came THe LIttles
The Ferguson family session was pure joy, laughter, and just the right amount of happy chaos. With three darling granddaughters—two sisters and their cousin—this session felt a little like herding kittens in the very best way. Full of personality and curiosity, and tears.
We met on a blustery fall day at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Modern Art, where the crisp air and open green spaces created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, park-like feel. The chill kept cheeks pink and the session fun, complete with a coffee break with grandpa.
When coordinating the session I knew the Ferguson family wanted images that felt natural and timeless—nothing stiff or overly posed—and the Nelson delivered beautifully. Between the expansive lawns and quiet pockets of greenery, we captured exactly what they hoped for: genuine connection, movement, and the sweet bond between these three cousins who clearly adore one another. I obviously captured portraits too.
There’s something especially meaningful about photographing a family with three little girls at the center of it all. Watching two sisters and their cousin interact, play, and stick close together is a reminder of how fleeting and special these seasons are. These images aren’t just photographs—they’re memories preserved from a day that was full of love, laughter, and togetherness.
Ferguson family, thank you for trusting me to capture your crew and all the beautiful chaos that comes with it. What a wonderful day from start to finish.
